BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AltoBeam, a developer of advanced DTV demodulators, today announced that LG Innotek, a leading manufacturer of digital media and consumer electronics, has selected AltoBeam’s latest ATBM8859 DTMB/DVB-C demodulator for its next generation China-bound hybrid TV tuner module, the TDSN-C201D.
The ATBM8859 is in full compliance with the GB20600-2006 (DTMB/CTTB), China’s terrestrial DTV broadcasting standard, and the GY/T 170-2001, China’s equivalent to the DVB-C standard ITU-T J.83 (Annexes A and C). It supports DTMB/DVB-C reception of both high definition and standard definition signals.
“LG Innotek has been using AltoBeam’s ATBM884x for our 2011 DTMB/DVB-C tuner modules, and we are satisfied with its consistent performance and reliability,” said Gil-Sang Park, Vice President of LG Innotek. “With further reduced footprint and power consumption, the new ATBM8859 will contribute to establishing our TDSN-C201D as the smallest and most power efficient tuner module in the market.”
“We are excited to have been chosen by LG Innotek for the second consecutive year,” said Dr. Steve Chaohuang Zeng, CEO of AltoBeam. “The ATBM8859 not only maintains the smooth reception standard established by our ATBM884x family, but also offers an expanded and improved feature set, making it the clear DTMB/DVB-C demodulator choice for global TV and module makers.”
“Being chosen by an industry leader such as LG Innotek two years in a roll is no small fare,” added Qi Deng, VP of International Sales for AltoBeam. “This success is another testimony from one of our key customers that AltoBeam has firmly established itself as a reliable long-term business partner.”
